Translation
Remembrance is also illustrated in the Padma Purāṇa: I offer my respects to the omniscient Lord. Remembrance of His name, while living or dying, immediately destroys heaps of sins committed by men.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Prayāṇe means “at the stage of dying.” Aprayāṇe means “while living.’’ In the Gītā this is also stated: prayāṇa-kāle manasācalena. (BG 8.10)
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
In the Padma Purāṇa the same remembrance is explained as follows: “Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Lord Kṛṣṇa, because if someone remembers Him, either at the time of death or during his span of life, he becomes freed from all sinful reactions.”
