Translation
In the Third Canto it is said: Bhakti steals away the mind and senses of the persons who do not desire liberation, by the prema arising from realizing the attractive limbs, pastimes, charming words, glances and playful smiles of the generous Lord. SB 3.25.36
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
With this verse, the author gives evidence for the previous point. Bhakti captivates the minds and senses of those not desiring liberation by prema, which arises from the realization of the beautiful limbs, smile and words of the Lord. Prayuṅkte means “causes.” They have no desire for liberation because they are already free from suffering. According to another explanation anvīm gatim means “the subtle or difficult to understand (anvīm) conditions (gatim) of being an associate of the Lord.” This meaning is obtained by the context, for it will be said in the next verse: śriyaṁ bhāgavatīṁ vāspṛhayanti bhadrāṁ parasya me te ’śnuvate tu loke: they do not desire to be elevated to the kingdom of God, the devotees enjoy, even in this life, all the offered benedictions, though they do not desire them. (SB 3.25.37) It is understood that not having a desire for these things even if they are offered is an expression of their humility.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
In this connection, in the Third Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Chapter Twenty-five, verse 36, Kapiladeva has advised His mother, Devahūti, as follows: “My dear mother, My pure devotees are charmed by seeing My different forms, the beauty of My face, the structure of My body so enchanting. My laughing, My pastimes and My glance appear to them so beautiful that their minds are always absorbed in thoughts of Me and their lives are dedicated fully unto Me. Although such people do not desire any kind of liberation or any kind of material happiness, still I give them a place among My associates in the supreme abode.”
This evidence from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam gives assurance to the pure devotee of being elevated to association with the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
