Verse Text

harṣeṇa, yathā – vihasasi kathaṁ hatāśe paśya bhayenādya kampamānāsmi | caṣcalam upasīdantaṁ nivāraya vraja-pates tanayam ||46||

Translation

From joy: O foolish friend! Why are you smiling? See--I am now trembling with fear. Keep away the fickle son of Nanda who is approaching. [Note: In this case, a contrary statement is made to cover the joy on seeing Kṛṣṇa.]

Purport (Nectar of Devotion)

Trembling of the body was also exhibited by Rādhārāṇī out of tribulation. Rādhārāṇī trembled as She told one of the gopīs, “Don’t joke with this disappointing boy! Please ask Him not to approach Me, because He is always the cause of all grief for us.”
