atha pralayaḥ –
pralayaḥ sukha-duḥkhābhyāṁ ceṣṭā-jṣāna-nirākṛtiḥ |
atrānubhāvāḥ kathitā mahī-nipatanādayaḥ ||58||
Translation
Pralaya: Pralaya or fainting refers to absence of action of the body and absence of mental functions which distinguish self and objects. This arises from either happiness or distress. It is characterized by falling on the ground etc.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Jṣana-nirākṛtiḥ refers to the disappearance of distinction of self and any object of awareness in the mind.

Devastation
When a person is confused by simultaneous happiness and tribulation and does not know what to do, this state of confusion is called pralaya, or devastation. In this condition of pralaya one sometimes falls down on the ground, and all the symptoms of ecstatic love become manifest.
