Verse Text
aniṣṭa-śrutyā, yathā –
ākalayya parivartita-gotrāṁ
keśavasya giram arpita-śalyām |
biddha-dhīr adhika-nirnimiṣākṣī-
lakṣaṇā kṣaṇam avartata tūṣṇīm ||109||
Translation
From hearing what is undesirable: Hearing Keśava call out someone else’s name, the heart of Lakṣmaṇā, one of the leaders of the gopīs, was pained. Her eyes stopped blinking and she did not utter a word.

Gotrām means “name.”
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
When Lakṣmaṇā became disturbed upon hearing words against Kṛṣṇa, she remained inert and did not move her eyelids. This is another example of inertia caused by hearing.
