Verse Text
saujanyena, yathā –
gūḍhā gābhīrya-sampadbhir mano-gahvara-garbhagā |
prauḍhāpy asyā ratiḥ kṛṣṇe durvitarkā parair abhūt ||125||
Translation
Concealment by good qualities: Though Rādhā’s attachment to Kṛṣṇa increased to the extreme, by the wealth of her self-control, she concealed it so that no one could doubt her.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Dakṣiṇyam means softness in the mind. This causes the concealment of anger. Saujanya however means that there is bashfulness and self-control which cause concealment. That is the difference. Her attraction was hidden (mano-gahvara-garbhagā). Though it increased (prauḍhāpi), it remained hidden (durvitarkā) because of her strong self-control.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
It has been stated, “Although Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī developed a deep loving affection for Kṛṣṇa, She hid Her attitude in the core of Her heart so that others could not detect Her actual condition.” This is an instance of concealment caused by gentleness.
