Verse Text
dṛḍhābhyāsena, yathā –
praṇidhāna-vidhim idānīm akurvato ’pi pramādato hṛdi me |
hari-pada-paṅkaja-yugalaṁ kvacit kadācit parisphurati ||131||
Translation
Smṛti arising from determined practice: Without concentrating, spontaneously, the lotus feet of the Lord now appear in my heart at any time and at any place.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Pramādataḥ means “without intending, a sudden occurrence.” Sometimes instead of pramādataḥ the word upadravataḥ (suddenly) is found.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
One devotee said that even when he was not very attentive he would sometimes, seemingly out of madness, remember the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa within his heart. This is an instance of remembrance resulting from constant practice. In other words, devotees who are constantly thinking of the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa, even if they are momentarily inattentive, will see the figure of Lord Kṛṣṇa appearing within their hearts.
