yathā vā –
aratibhir atikramya kṣāmā pradoṣam adoṣadhīḥ
katham api cirād adhyāsīnā praghāṇam aghāntaka |
vidhūrita-mukhī ghūrṇaty antaḥ prasūs tava cintayā
kim ahaha gṛhaṁ krīḍā-lubdha tvayādya visasmare ||138||
Translation
Another example: O killer of Agha! Your affectionate mother, depressed and thin from thinking of You, remained sitting on the veranda from a long time, and having waited till evening, she now wanders about within the house. How astonishing it is! Though You experienced such fun there, You have completely forgotten about Your house.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Adoṣa-dhīḥ means pure minded. Because she is pure minded, Yaśodā has natural affection for Kṛṣṇa. Praghāṇam means a veranda. It is spelled either praghāṇam or praghānam.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
One of the friends of Kṛṣṇa once informed Him, “My dear killer of the demon Mura, Your kind and gentle mother is very anxious because You have not returned home, and with great difficulty she has passed the evening constantly sitting on the balcony of Your home. It is certainly astonishing how You could forget Your mother while You are off somewhere engaged in Your playful activities!” This is another instance of deep anxiety in ecstatic love.
