aniṣṭāptyā, yathā –
gṛhiṇi gahanayāntaścintayonnidra-netrā
glapaya na mukha-padmaṁ tapta-bāṣpa-plavena |
nṛpa-puram anuvindan gāndineyena sārdhaṁ
tava sutam aham eva drāk parāvartayāmi ||139||
Translation
Cintā arising from attaining something undesirable: Do not remain sleepless, absorbed in intense deliberation, with hot tears withering your lotus face. I will go to Mathurā with Akrura and bring back your son very soon.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Snapaya na mukha padma tapta bāśpa plavena is an alternative reading of the second line. Stating “I will soon bring him back,” the speaker (Garga) is saying that Yaśodā should no longer worry about undesirable things. The undesirable thing is that Kṛṣṇa was staying in Mathurā after killing Kaṁsa.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
When Mother Yaśodā was very anxiously waiting for Kṛṣṇa to return from Mathurā, Mahārāja Nanda gave her this solace: “My dear Yaśodā, please don’t be worried. Please dry your beautiful lotuslike face. There is no need for you to breathe so hotly. I will go immediately with Akrūra to the palace of Kaṁsa and get your son back for you.” Here is an instance of anxiety in ecstatic love caused by Kṛṣṇa’s awkward position.
