Translation

From the Padma Purāṇa, Vaiśākha-maḥātmya: Let the purāṇas and other scriptures glorify here and there for a kalpa the greatness of their respective devatās in order to produce illusion in the people of this world. But after taking account of all varieties of interpretation, their conclusion is that Viṣṇu alone is the Supreme Lord.

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

Let the purāṇas and āgamas speak here and there to persons incapable of concluding the essence of all the purāṇas and āgamas, and let them glorify the devatās as the best for a kalpa. However, their conclusion is actually otherwise. When the meanings of the various statements (vyāpāreṣu), which may be conventional or literal, are brought together for judging as a whole (vivecana-vyatikaram), the conclusion is that Viṣṇu alone is Bhagavān. Carācaraysa (of moving entities) refers to humans in this context, because they are qualified for understanding the scriptures.

Purport (Nectar of Devotion)

In the Vaiśākha-māhātmya section of the Padma Purāṇa a devotee states that though in some of the eighteen Purāṇas the process of glorifying Lord Viṣṇu is not mentioned and the glorifying of some demigod is offered, such glorification must be continued for millions of years. For when one studies the Purāṇas very scrutinizingly, he can see that ultimately Lord Viṣṇu is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is an instance of ecstatic love developed out of thoughtfulness.
