atha (32) suptiḥ –
suptir nidrā-vibhāvā syān nānārthānubhavātmikā |
indriyoparati-śvāsa-netra-saṁmīlanādi-kṛt ||177||
Translation
Sleep in which there are various thoughts and an experience of objects is called supti or dreaming. In this state there is absence of the functioning of the external senses, heavy breathing and closing the eyes.
