nirvede tu yatherṣyāyā bhaved atra vibhāvatā |
asūyāyāṁ punas tasyā vyaktam uktānubhāvatā ||197||
Translation
Thus īrṣyā (malice) is the cause of nirveda (self-disgust) and the effect of asūyā (envy). This has already been stated.
