paratantrāḥ svatantrāś cety uktāḥ saṣcāriṇo dvidhā ||205||
Translation
The vyabhicāri-bhāvas may be either dependent or independent.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
The dependent vyabhicāri-bhāvas are under the control of the mukhya and gauṇa-ratis. [Note: However the inferior dependent vyabhicāri-bhāva arises from a rati which is neither primary or secondary.] The independent ones are not under the direct control of rati.
