Verse Text

tatra saubhāgyena, yathā śrī-kṛṣṇa-karṇāmṛte (3.93) – hastam utkṣipya yāto ’si balāt kṛṣṇa kim adbhutam | hṛdayād yadi niryāsi pauruṣaṁ gaṇayāmi te ||43||

Translation

Haughtiness arising from good fortune, from Kṛṣṇa-karṇāmṛta: O Kṛṣṇa! Is it really astonishing if You can give up holding my hand? I will consider You a real man if You can take Yourself from my heart.

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

Kṛṣṇa giving up her hand is not actually in her own interest. Such statements are made in love and sorrow.

Purport (Nectar of Devotion)

Bilvamaṅgala Ṭhākura said, “My dear Kṛṣṇa, You are leaving me, forcibly getting out of my clutches. But I shall be impressed by Your strength only when You can go forcibly from the core of my heart.” This is an instance of feeling pride in ecstatic love for Kṛṣṇa.
