Verse Text

viṣādād, yathā śrī-daśame– kṛṣṇaṁ mahā-baka-grastaṁ dṛṣṭvā rāmādayo ’rbhakāḥ | babhūvur indriyāṇīva vinā prāṇaṁ vicetasaḥ ||97||

Translation

Moha arising from despair, from the Tenth Canto: When Balarāma and the other boys saw that Kṛṣṇa had been devoured by the gigantic duck, they became unconscious, like senses without life. SB 10.11.49

Purport (Nectar of Devotion)

Death Once the Bakāsura demon assumed the shape of a very big heron and opened his mouth in order to swallow Kṛṣṇa and all the cowherd boys. When Kṛṣṇa was entering into the demon’s mouth, Balarāma and the other cowherd boys almost fainted and appeared as though they had no life.
