Verse Text
pūrter vikāra-vistāra-vikṣepa-kṣobhas tathā |
sarva-bhakti-rasāsvādaḥ paṣcadhā parikīrtitaḥ ||120||
Translation
There are five tastes in the bhakti-rasas: pūrti, vikāśa, vistāra, vikṣepa and kṣobha.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
Sustenance, manifestation, expansion, reflection and lamentation are the five visible symptoms in exchanges of ecstatic love. The test of devotional service can therefore be made in terms of these five symptoms.
