Verse Text
api kṛṣṇa-vibhāvatvam ādya-ṣaṭkasya sambhavet |
syād dehādi-vibhāvatvaṁ saptamyās tu rater vaśāt ||41||
Translation
Since they are under the control of the primary ratis, Kṛṣṇa acts as the cause for the first six of these bhāvas, but Kṛṣṇa cannot be the cause of the seventh secondary rati, jugupsā or disgust. The cause of disgust is the material body or other objects.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Since they are under the control of the primary ratis (rater vaśāt), Kṛṣṇa is the cause (vibhāvatvam) of the first six secondary ratis from hāsa to bhaya. They fall under the control of rati, since they can suitably be expressed in relation to Kṛṣṇa. The causes of the seventh secondary rati, jugupsā or disgust, are the material body and other such things. Kṛṣṇa is not a cause of disgust.
