Verse Text
vipakṣādiṣu yānto ’pi krodhādyāḥ sthāyitāṁ sadā |
labhante rati-śūnyatvān na bhakti-rasa-yogyatām ||47||
Translation
Though the secondary bhāvas become sthāyi-bhāvas in the enemies of Kṛṣṇa, they are not suitable for bhakti-rasa since they are without a primary rati (positive attraction to Kṛṣṇa).
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Because the enemies of Kṛṣṇa are devoid of rati, there is no possibility of even ratyābhāsa, since they are hostile to the Lord. [Note: This type of emotion is later called aparasa, and is included under the broad title of rasābhāsa (4.9.38).]
