Verse Text

śuddhā prītis tathā sakhyaṁ vātsalyaṁ priyatety asau | svaparārthyaiva sā mukhyā punaḥ paṣca-vidhā bhavet ||6||

Translation

A primary rati in these two forms has five varieties: śuddha, prīti (or dāsya), sakhya, vatsala (or vātsalya) and priyatā (or madhura).

Purport (Nectar of Devotion)

These selfless symptoms can again be divided into five groups: neutrality, servitude, fraternity, parenthood and conjugal love.
