atha jugupsā-ratiḥ –
jugupsā syād ahṛdyānubhavāc citta-nimīlanam |
tatra niṣṭhīvanaṁ vaktra-kūṇanaṁ kutsanādayaḥ |
rater anugrahāj jātā sā jugupsā-ratir matā ||71||
Translation
Jugupsā-rati: Restriction of the heart arising from experiencing disgusting things is called jugupsā or disgust. In this state spitting, curling the lips, and uttering contemptuous words manifest. When this jugupsā appears because of rati, it is called jugupsā-rati.
