Verse Text

atha śāntāḥ – śāntāḥ syuḥ kṛṣṇa-tat-preṣṭha-kāruṇyena ratiṁ gatāḥ | ātmārāmās tadīyādhva-baddha-śraddhāś ca tāpasāḥ ||11||

Translation

The śānta-bhaktas are of two types: the ātmārāmas who have attained rati for Kṛṣṇa due to the mercy of Kṛṣṇa and His dear devotees, and the performers of austerities who have developed firm faith in the path of bhakti (also by mercy of the devotees).

Purport (Nectar of Devotion)

This stage of śānta-rasa can be attained by the impersonalists only when they are in association with pure devotees. Otherwise it is not possible. After Brahman realization, when a liberated soul comes in contact with a pure devotee of Lord Kṛṣṇa and submissively accepts the teachings of Lord Kṛṣṇa without misinterpretation, he becomes situated in this neutral stage of devotional service.
