rasāmṛtābdher bhāge ’tra tṛtīye paścimābhidhe |
mukhyo bhakti-rasaḥ paṣcavidhaḥ śāntādīr īryate ||2||
Translation
In the third section of this book, called the Western Division of the ocean of sweet rasa, the five types of primary bhakti-rasa starting with śānta are described.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
This third division of Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu describes the five primary kinds of devotional service—namely neutrality, servitude, fraternity, parenthood and conjugal love.
