Verse Text

atha saṣcāriṇaḥ – saṣcārino ’tra nirvedo dhṛtir harṣo matiḥ smṛtiḥ | viṣādotsukatāvega-vitarkādyāḥ prakīrtitāḥ ||33||

Translation

In śānta-rasa, the saṣcāri-bhāvas of nirveda, dhṛti, harṣa, mati, smṛti, viṣāda, autsukya, āvega and vitarka and others appear.

Purport (Nectar of Devotion)

Sometimes devotees in śānta-rasa become stunned, peaceful, jubilant, deliberate, reflective, anxious, dexterous and argumentative. These symptoms indicate continuous ecstasy, or established emotion.
