yathā vā –
vilocana-sudhāmbudhes tava padāravinda-dvayī
vilocana-rasa-cchaṭām anupalabhya vikṣubhyataḥ |
mano mama manāg api kvacid anāpnuvan nirvṛtiṁ
kṣaṇārdham api manyate vraja-mahendra varṣa-vrajam ||101||
Translation
Another example: O Kṛṣṇa! You are an ocean of nectar for the eyes. Not having the pleasure of seeing Your two lotus feet, I am disturbed and my mind cannot find any happiness. A moment seems like many years.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
This is a secret letter written by Uddhava in Mathurā to Kṛṣṇa (in Vraja). Instead of vikṣubhyataḥ (disturbed, modifying “my”) sometimes vikṣobhabhṛt (disturbed mind) is seen.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
A similar sentiment was expressed by Uddhava when he wrote a letter to Kṛṣṇa and said, “My dear Supreme King of Vraja, You are the vision of nectar for the eyes, and without seeing Your lotus feet and the effulgence of Your body, my mind is always morose. I cannot perceive any peace under any circumstance. Besides that, I am feeling every moment’s separation to be like the duration of many, many long years.”
