yathā –
bali-suta-bhuja-ṣaṇḍa-khaṇḍanāya
kṣataja-puraṁ puruṣottame prayāte |
vidhuta-vidhura-buddhir uddhavo ’yaṁ
viraha-niruddha-manā niruddhavo ’bhūt ||115||
Translation
An example of viyoga: When Kṛṣṇa went to Śonitapura to cut of the arms of Bāṇa (the son of Bali), Uddhava’s mind became overcome with separation. His intelligence was shaken because of suffering, and he became devoid of bliss.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Kṣatajapuram is Śoṇitapura. Vidhuta means shaken. His intelligence was shaken because it was full of suffering (vidhura-buddhiḥ). Another version has vidhura-vidhuta-buddhiḥ (he lost his intelligence because of suffering). Amara-kośa says vidhuraṁ tu praviśleṣa: vidhuram means separation.

When Lord Kṛṣṇa went to the city of Śoṇitapura to fight with Bali’s son Bāṇa and to cut off all his hands, Uddhava, being separated from Kṛṣṇa and thinking of His fight, was almost completely stunned into unconsciousness.
