Verse Text
mūrcchitaṁ, yathā –
samajani daśā viśleṣāt te padāmbuja-sevināṁ
vraja-bhuvi tathā nāsīn nidrā-lavo ’pi yathā purā |
yadu-vara dara-śvāsenāmī vitarkita-jīvitāḥ
satatam adhunā niśceṣṭāṅgās taṭāny adhiśerate ||126||
Translation
An example of moha or mūrcchitam (fainting) in viyoga: O best of the Yadus! Those who were serving Your lotus feet got no sleep when You were in Vraja. In separation from You, they had reached a similar state. But now, by their slight breathing, it is questionable whether they are living or not. With unconscious bodies, they lie on the bank of the Yamunā.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Just as previously they could not sleep at all when you were in Vraja, they cannot sleep now because of separation from You. But as well, now, without moving, they remain continuously lying on the bank of the Yamunā.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
Uddhava informed Kṛṣṇa, “My dear leader of the Yadu dynasty, Your servants in Vṛndāvana cannot sleep at night thinking of You, so now they are all lying down on the bank of the Yamunā almost paralyzed. And it appears that they are almost dead, because their breathing is very slow.” This is an instance of becoming unconscious due to separation from Kṛṣṇa.
