Verse Text

asmin muhuḥ pada-kṣepe kṣaṇike rudita-smite | svāṅguṣṭha-pānam uttāna-śayanādyaṁ ca ceṣṭitam ||21||

Translation

The activities of Kṛṣṇa at the beginning of the kaumāra age are kicking up His legs, momentary crying or laughing, sucking His thumb, and sleeping on His back.

Purport (Nectar of Devotion)

“He was sometimes stepping with His legs again and again, sometimes crying, sometimes smiling, sometimes sucking His thumb and sometimes lying down flat. These are some of the different activities of the child Kṛṣṇa.
