atha madhyamam –
dṛk-taṭī-bhāg-alakatānagnatā cchidri-karṇatā |
kalokti-riṅganādyaṁ ca kaumāre sati madhyame ||25||
Translation
Middle kaumāra age: In the middle kaumāra age, Kṛṣṇa has locks of hair falling to His eyes. He appears with partial clothing. He has pierced ears, He utters sweet, unclear words, and beings to crawl.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Ānagnatā means “somewhat naked.” This has two forms: not completely covered and sometimes naked. Though Kṛṣṇa eternally has holes pierced in His ears, the holes become visible at this time. Riṅganādyam means the beginning stages of crawling by moving His feet a little.

In the middle kaumāra age, the upper portion of Kṛṣṇa’s hair falls around His eyes. Sometimes He is covered with cloth around the lower part of His body, and sometimes He is completely naked. Sometimes He tries to walk, taking step by step, and sometimes He talks very sweetly, in broken language. These are some of the symptoms of His middle kaumāra age
