yathā –
sa manāg apacīyamāna-madhyaḥ
prathimopakrama-śikṣaṇārthi-vakṣāḥ |
dadhad-ākula-kāka-pakṣa-lakṣmīṁ
jananīṁ stambhayati sma divya-ḍimbhaḥ ||30||
Translation
An example: The sight of the charming child with thin waist, slightly broadened chest, and three braids tied at the back of His head completely stunned His mother.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Apacīyamāna-madhyaḥ means that the waist became slightly thinner on its own, by itself. It is a reflexive verb form. Kāka-pakṣa means that three braids, one on the left, one on the right and one in the center, were tied together at the back.
