asyā rūpaṁ –
mada-cakita-cakorī-cārutā-cora-dṛṣṭir
vadana-damita-rākārohiṇī-kānta-kīrtiḥ |
avikala-kala-dhautoddhūti-dhaureyaka-śrīr
madhurima-madhu-pātrī rājate paśya rādhā ||8||
Translation
Her form: Just look at Rādhā, the abode of sweet nectar, whose blissful eyes steals the beauty of a cakorī bird quivering with excitement, whose face defeats the fame of the full moon, and whose excellent beauty exceeds the luster of pure gold.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Mad-cakita-cakorī means a female cakora bird [Note: The cakora or Greek partridge is said to subsist on moonbeams.] who is trembling with excitement. Cakita usually indicates trembling with fear, but in this case, simply indicates the restless nature of her eyes, due to excitement (mada).
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
The beauty of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī is described as follows: “Her eyes defeat the attractive features of the eyes of the cakorī bird. When one sees the face of Rādhārāṇī, he immediately hates the beauty of the moon. Her bodily complexion defeats the beauty of gold. Thus, let us all look upon the transcendental beauty of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī.”
