Verse Text
saivotsāha-ratiḥ sthāyī vibhāvādyair nijocitaḥ |
ānīyamānā svādyatvaṁ vīra-bhakti-raso bhavet ||1||
Translation
When utsāha-rati attains an enjoyable nature by suitable vibhāvas and other elements, it is called vīra-bhakti-rasa.

Chivalry
When on account of love and devotional service for the Lord there is special valorous enthusiasm, the resultant activities are called chivalrous.
