Translation

Adbhuta, hāsya, sakhya and dāsya-rasas are favorable for vīra-rasa. Bhayānaka and śānta-rasas are unfavorable for yuddha-vīra-rasa. For dāna-vīra, dayā-vīra and dharma-vīra-rasas, bhayānaka-rasa is unfavorable.

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

Vatsala-rasa is sometimes favorable for vīra-rasa as well. This is the case of Balarāma and others for whom vatsala-rasa is favorable to their yuddha-vīra-rasa, and the inhabitants of Vraja, for whom vatsala is favorable for their dāna-vīra-rasa. Bhayānaka-rasa and śānta-rasa are unfavorable for the yuddha-vīra (indicted by kasyacit--in some cases). Bhayānaka-rasa is unfavorable for the other types of vīra-rasa.

Purport (Nectar of Devotion)

With the ecstasy of devotional chivalry a mixture of astonishment, laughter or servitude is compatible, whereas a mixture of dread or conjugal love is incompatible. According to some expert opinions, the ecstasy of neutral love is always compatible with devotional service in chivalry.
