Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Raudra here refers to anger generated during a period of suffering by the remembrance of previous painful treatment by the lover. If painful treatment were at the present time, while in a state of suffering, it would generate fear.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
With the ecstasy of compassion in devotional service a mixture of anger or parental love is compatible, whereas a mixture of laughter, conjugal love or astonishment is always incompatible.
