Translation
Karuṇa and vīra-rasas are favorable to raudra-rasa. Hāsya, madhura and bhayānaka-rasa are the enemies.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
Bhīśaṇa means bhayānaka-rasa. It is unfavorable for raudra-rasa when manifested in the devotee experiencing raudra-rasa.
Purport (Nectar of Devotion)
With the ecstasy of anger in devotional service a mixture of compassion or chivalry is compatible, whereas a mixture of laughter, conjugal union or dread is completely incompatible.
