so ’ṅgī sarvātigo yaḥ syān mukhyo gauṇo ’thavā rasaḥ |
sa evāṅgaṁ bhaved aṅgi-poṣī saṣcāritāṁ vrajan ||42||
Translation
In the mixture of rasas, the primary or secondary rasa which surpasses the others in taste is known as the aṅgī. The rasa which nourishes the aṅgī-rasa and takes on the nature of a vyabhicāri-bhāva (temporary emotion) is the aṅga-rasa.
