Verse Text

tatra viṣaya-bhede, yathā – vimocayārgalābandhaṁ vilambaṁ tāta nācara | yāmi kāśya-gṛhaṁ yūnā manaḥ śyāmena me hṛtam || atra śuceḥ prītena | ||75||

Translation

Madhura-rasa conflicting with dāsya-rasa, even though the viṣayas are different: O father! Unlock the door bolt without delay! I will go to the house of Sāndīpani Muni. My mind is attracted to the dark-complexioned youth.

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

Kāśya is Sāndīpani Muni. The girl shows dāsya-rasa (prītena) towards her father. [Note: Child to parent relationship is dāsya as with Kṛṣṇa’s children in Dvārakā.] By the strength of her feelings however even here is no interference with her madhura-rasa. A similar case would be the following: ahaṁ trayīmayāj jātā sātvatānāṁ patiḥ sa tu tasmād anyo varaḥ ko vā mamālambāya kalpatām I am born from the sun god. He is the master of the Sātvatas. Therefore what other person is suitable as my husband? Trayīmayāt means from the sun.

Purport (Nectar of Devotion)

One resident of Mathurā requested her father to bolt the doors and then go with her to the school of Sāndīpani Muni to find Kṛṣṇa. She complained that Kṛṣṇa had completely stolen her mind. In this incident there is a mixture of conjugal love and parental love, but there is no incompatibility.
