Verse Text

aṣṭāv amī taṭastheṣu prākaṭyaṁ yadi bibhrati | kṛṣṇādibhir vibhāvādyair tadāpy anurasā matāḥ ||37||

Translation

If the seven secondary rasas or śānta-rasa appear in neutral devotees [Note: Taṭastha-bhaktas are described as those who are attached to the brahman (śānta rasa) and those who appreciate the qualities of the Lord but do not identify themselves as His followers. (Prīti-sandarbha 92) The taṭastha-bhakta’s experience of Kṛṣṇa is inferior to the śānta-bhakta with uparasa as a temporary phenomena, and is thus classed as anurasa.] with Kṛṣṇa as the vibhāva etc. it is still considered anurasa.
