Is my respectable grandfather Śūrasena in a happy mood? And are my maternal uncle Vasudeva and his younger brothers all doing well?
Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
Is our respected maternal grandfather Śūra [Note: He was Vasudeva and Kuntī’s father. They were therefore brother and sister. He had nine other sons and three other daughters. Kuntī was later adopted by Kuntibhoja.] well? Are our maternal uncle Vasudeva and his younger brothers well?
Commentary (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
Māriṣaḥ means respected.
