स्वं स्वं वत्सकुलं सर्वे पाययिष्यन्त एकदा । गत्वा जलाशयाभ्याशं पाययित्वा पपुर्जलम् ॥ ४६ ॥

Verse text

svaṁ svaṁ vatsa-kulaṁ sarve pāyayiṣyanta ekadā gatvā jalāśayābhyāśaṁ pāyayitvā papur jalam

Synonyms

svam svam own respective ; vatsa kulam — the group of calves ; sarve all the boys and Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma ; pāyayiṣyantaḥ desiring to have them drink water ; ekadā one day ; gatvā going ; jala āśaya — abhyāśam — near the water tank ; pāyayitvā after allowing the animals to drink water ; papuḥ jalam they also drank water .

Translation

One day all the boys, including Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, each boy taking his own group of calves, brought the calves to a reservoir of water, desiring to allow them to drink. After the animals drank water, the boys drank water there also.

One day all the boys, including Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, each boy taking his own group of calves, brought the calves to a reservoir of water, desiring to allow them to drink. After the animals drank water, the boys drank water there also. KB 10.11.46 One day, all the cowherd boys went to the bank of the river Yamunā to water their calves. When the calves drank water from the Yamunā, the boys also drank.

Now the killing Baka will be described. The boys were all amazed on seeing the demon at the same time. All the boys including Kṛṣṇa went to the pond to have the cows drink water. The pond was a huge water body east of Nandīśvara. It is well known that near that place was the dwelling place of Baka.
