āgatya sahasā kṛṣṇaṁ
tīkṣṇa-tuṇḍo ’grasad balī

Translation
That great-bodied demon was named Bakāsura. He had assumed the body of a duck with a very sharp beak. Having come there, he immediately swallowed Kṛṣṇa.

The name of this beast was Bakāsura, and he was a friend of Kaṁsa’s. He appeared on the scene suddenly and immediately attacked Kṛṣṇa with his pointed, sharp beak and quickly swallowed Him up.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
The demon was famous (vai) as Baka. It was huge in body and in cruelty (mahān), with the form of a crane. This form was permanent for the demon. Though this was so, and, though he had a very sharp beak which was very strong to do his evil work, he could just get Kṛṣṇa in his mouth, but he could do nothing more than that. This was the will of Kṛṣṇa, whose name means” he who is famous as the great ocean of variegated, inconceivable pastimes”.
