Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

As the cowherd boys reached the village of Vraja, they sang, "Today Kṛṣṇa saved us by killing a great serpent!" Some of the boys described Kṛṣṇa as the son of Yaśodā, and others as the son of Nanda Mahārāja. KB 10.14.48 The boys composed nice songs describing how they were saved from being swallowed by the great serpent and how the serpent was killed. Some described Kṛṣṇa as the son of Yaśodā, and others as the son of Nanda Mahārāja. “He is so wonderful that He saved us from the clutches of the great serpent and killed him,” they said. But little did they know that one year had passed since the killing of Aghāsura.

Purport

Actually, Lord Kṛṣṇa had killed the demon Aghāsura one year earlier, but the boys, bewildered by the mystic potency of Brahmā for one year, did not notice the time passing and thus thought that on that very day Lord Kṛṣṇa had killed the demon Aghāsura and was now returning home with them.

Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

"One snake was killed by this small child of Yasoda and Nanda, or by this small child who gives fame and bliss. He also saved us from the huge snake."

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

The boys who had come from the family of Yaśodā called Kṛṣṇa the son of Yaśodā and others called him the son of Nanda. Or, they all praised both parents without making distinctions to show the good fortune on the families of Gokula by the parents’ presence.

Purport (Sanatana Goswami)

The snake was killed by Yaśodā’s son who is bliss itself (Yaśodā-nanda-sūnunā). She attained satisfaction by his action.
