śāla-hastau tarasvinau
āsedatus taṁ tarasā
tvaritaṁ guhyakādhamam

Translation
The Lords called out in reply, “Do not fear!” Then They picked up logs of the śala tree and quickly pursued that lowest of Guhyakas, who swiftly ran away.

… taking up big logs of śāla wood in Their hands. “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid,” They called to the gopīs. “We are coming at once to chastise this demon.” Very quickly They reached Śaṅkhacūḍa.

As cowherds, in order to protect their cows, pursue a person on seeing that he is herded away all their cows, Krsna and Balarama pursued Sankhacuda.

They pursued the demon at great speed immediately. Or they pursued and came close to the demon who was moving quickly.

Replying in order to make the gopīs fearless, they said, “Do not fear!” They caught up with person who had taken the women. They grabbed śāla trees because they were strong boys or because Kṛṣṇa was eager to take the jewel. The demon was the lowest of the Guhyakas since he had previously performed such low acts.
