Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

The sound of the bow's breaking filled the earth and sky in all directions. Upon hearing it, Kaṁsa was struck with terror. KB 10.42.18 The sound of the bow cracking filled both sky and land and was heard by Kaṁsa. When Kaṁsa heard what had happened, he began to fear for his life.

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

One should not think that the bow was soft. It was harder than a thunderbolt. First the sound filled the antarikṣa, travelling through the ākāśa. Then the sound spread to Svarga and earth (rodasī) since it spread up and down because of its greatness. Then it spread in all directions and filled all planets. Though Kaṁsa instilled fear in the whole world he became completely (upa agamat) terrified of this sound. He considered that this sound indicated the cruelest destruction and thus thought he would immediately die.
