kṛtavān droham ulbaṇam
tenemāṁ bho daśāṁ nīto
bhūta-dhruk ko labheta śam

Translation
O dear one, you have been brought to this state because of the terrible violence you committed against innocent creatures. How can one who harms others attain happiness?

Having expressed their sentimental grief, the ladies now speak practical wisdom. They are beginning to see things realistically because their minds were purified by the agony of the recent events and by the association of Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Some women, who lamented along with the others just as a matter of material custom, understanding the truth, speak in two verses. You committed excessive violence to sinless beings, making them die with great suffering (ulbaṇam).

If he were an excellent person, how could he die so miserably? You committed excessive violence to sinless beings. O king of the demons! “But that is not a sin for demons like me dedicated to knowledge.” There is no happiness or auspiciousness (śam) for the violent person.
