Translation
After Uddhava had eaten first-class food, been seated comfortably on a bed and been relieved of his fatigue by a foot massage and other means, Nanda inquired from him as follows.
Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
After Uddhava had eaten first-class food, been seated comfortably on a bed and been relieved of his fatigue by a foot massage and other means, Nanda inquired from him as follows.
KB 10.46.15
Nanda Mahārāja offered him a sitting place and sat down with him to ask about messages from Kṛṣṇa, Balarāma and other family members in Mathurā. Nanda could understand that Uddhava was a very confidential friend of Kṛṣṇa’s and therefore must have come with good messages.
Purport
Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī mentions that Nanda had a servant massage Uddhava’s feet, since Uddhava was Nanda’s nephew.
Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
Nanda fed Uddhava rice cooked in milk. From the day that Krsna had departed from Mathura, the kitchens of the people of Vraja were left unswept and dirty, filled with leaves, grass, dust and spider webs. The people of Vraja maintained their lives by buttermilk, yogurt and milk given by neighbors. They simply lamented, "We have died." But on this particular day, understanding Nanda’s anxiety that when Uddhava comes he should not suffer from hunger, one brahmana accompanying Nanda cooked a quantity of broken rice with milk for one person. Massaging Uddhava’s feet was performed by a servant, since Uddhava was his nephew and therefore an inferior.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
He fed him rice boiled in milk or the best rice. Nanda offered him a bed and, when he spread out his body, he made him relax. He removed his fatigue by massaging his feet. When he was seated comfortably (sukham) he inquired from him.
Purport (Sanatana Goswami)
He fed Uddhava rice because it was the principal food, as well as dairy products and other foods. He was seated on a bed or stretched his body out on the bed. He had others massage his feet or personally did it, and fanned him and offered sandalwood. When Uddhava’s fatigue was gone, Nanda inquired with lamentation.
