“It is a great boon for you that you have fixed your minds upon Kṛṣṇa and have decided to have Kṛṣṇa only, giving up your families, homes, relatives, husbands and children for the sake of the Supreme Personality.
Purport
Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī explains that the
gopīs
gave up their sense of possessiveness toward these objects. History shows that the
gopīs
remained in Vṛndāvana, living in their houses with their families. However, unlike ordinary persons, they entirely renounced the egoistical sense of possession of sons, husbands and so on. They never tried to enjoy them but rather gave their whole heart and mind to the Supreme Lord, as recommended in the great religious scriptures of the world. Following the example of the
gopīs,
we should love the Supreme Lord with all of our heart, soul and might.
Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
"It is my good fortune that you have given up sons etc who are the objects of extreme attachment, and accepted the form of the Supreme Lord named Krsna as the enjoyer of yourselves."
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
The process of spreading bhakti is clearly explained in this verse. Since you have given up sons and other things, considering them to be temporary, because of the power of natural love for one object, Kṛṣṇa, you have accepted Kṛṣṇa, the parabrahman with human form (puruṣaṁ param), as your real lover. This is good fortune for all people. Having seen and heard about your actions, others will do the same.
Purport (Sanatana Goswami)
“Lakṣmī should be praised for having such bhakti. Since we however are not independent we cannot perform such worship.” This has been most auspicious. You have up even brothers and sisters (svajanān) and accepted as your lover the supreme person called Kṛṣṇa, who manifests unlimited forms and qualities.
Sons and others were rejected by rejecting affectionate relationships with them, or by completely rejecting them. Rejection of bodies means to neglect the body and to attain a death-like state. The order in the list is from more important to less important. Ca means eva. You are superior to Lakṣmī by your type of bhakti.
