Translation
The King of Mithilā immediately rose from his seat when he saw Lord Balarāma approaching. With great love the King honored the supremely worshipable Lord by offering Him elaborate worship, as stipulated by scriptural injunctions.

When the King of Mithilā saw the arrival of Śrī Balarāma in his city, he was most pleased and received the Lord with great honor and hospitality. He gave many valuable presents to Balarāmajī in order to seek His pleasure.

Understanding that Krsna, who was omniscient, was fooling him, Balarama, with covered anger, said, "I will go to Mithila. You go to Dvaraka and give the jewel to your beloved, but I will not go to Dvaraka."

The king rose suddenly because Balarāma came unexpectedly and alone. He worshipped him with the best articles (samarhaṇaiḥ) worthy for honoring someone (arhanīyam). Instead of arhaṇīyaṁ sometimes arhaṇam vai is seen. Vai means famous.
