Goddess Bhūmi said: Obeisances unto You, O Lord of the chief demigods, O holder of the conchshell, disc and club. O Supreme Soul within the heart, You assume Your various forms to fulfill Your devotees' desires. Obeisances unto You. KB 10.59.25 “Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto the Lord, who is always present with four symbols, namely His conchshell, disc, lotus and club, and who is the Lord of all demigods. Please accept my respectful obeisances unto You. My dear Lord, You are the Supersoul, and in order to satisfy the aspirations of Your devotees, You descend to the earth in Your various transcendental incarnations, which are just appropriate to the devotees’ worshipful desire. Kindly accept my respectful obeisances.

Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

"You know my sincere heart, since you are paramatma, even though I am the mother of someone opposed to you."

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

You are the protector of devatās like Brahmā (deva-deveśa). Therefore you hold the conch to kill the wicked. You appear in various forms like Matsya by the desire of your devotees. You give them the proper intelligence (paramātman).

Purport (Sanatana Goswami)

You are the protector of devatās like Brahmā (deva-deveśa). Therefore you hold the conch, disc and club to kill the wicked. You appear in various forms like Matsya by the desire of your devotees. You give them the proper intelligence (paramātman). The order of holding the weapons is from lower left hand, and ending with the right lower. Since his consort is situated on his left, she is mentioned first from the left. At this time he was seen for four arms, as Nārada sees him. “Or deva-deveśa means Nārāyaṇa.” That is true. He is you. Thus the four armed form is described holding the conch etc. “Why, if I am Nārāyaṇa, am I also two armed?” You assume forms according to the desire of your devotee. Appearing as a human you are beautiful. By your power you spread everywhere or you are the dearest to all people. Paramātman!
