Translation
Shaking with anger like the ocean on the full-moon day, handsome Lord Balarāma, His naturally reddish eyes even redder in His fury, accepted a wager of one hundred million gold coins.

Because of this lie, Balarāmajī became most angry with Rukmī. His agitation was so sudden and great that it appeared like a tidal wave in the ocean on a full-moon day. Balarāma’s eyes are naturally reddish, and when He became agitated and angry His eyes became more reddish. This time He challenged and made a bet of a hundred million coins.

Balarāma was endowed with a wealth of glories (śrīṁān). However, Śukadeva, remembering Balarāma’s urge to kill the demon and also remembering his manifestation of special power, understood that he could not be agitated but sometimes he became dangerously agitated like the ocean. His naturally red eyes became even redder because of extreme anger.

Though endowed with a wealth of patience (śrīmān), and though not inclined to agitation, sometimes he becomes agitated, like the ocean. By nature he had red eyes, but by the agitation the eyes became redder. Or though having red eyes by nature, agitated by great anger, he moved his brows. Thus he was beautiful (śrīmān).
