Translation
I will not kill this demonic son of Vairocani, for I gave Prahlāda Mahārāja the benediction that I would not kill any of his descendants.

I will not kill this demonic son of Vairocani, for I gave Prahlāda Mahārāja the benediction that I would not kill any of his descendants.

“I know that this Bāṇāsura is the son of Bali Mahārāja, and as such I cannot kill him, for that is My promise. I gave a benediction to King Prahlāda that the demons who would appear in his family would never be killed by Me.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
I will certainly not kill him. Though he is a demon he will not be killed because he is the son of Vairocani. Another version has Vairocana. He is a descendent, related to Prahlāda. Because of this, he cannot be born as an insect, snake or frog, in his next life. I cannot kill him like Pūtanā or Baka. Worrying about inauspiciousness for the people, snakes and others were killed by my friends. Others related to Prahlāda, though evil, should be taught by punishment.
Purport (Sanatana Goswami)
The Lord speaks to remove the restriction felt by Śiva’s humility. Though he is a demon, I will not kill him because he is Vairocani’s son. This fact is repeated in the second line but is not redundant since it comes in two separate statements. There is also another version.
